Presenter Lowdown - Matt Black
Matt Black is a pianist, comedian, record producer, and radio presenter who’s been a professional musician for over 30 years. He’s as comfortable behind a piano as he is behind the mic — and what you see is very much what you get.
His mum thinks he’s in jail (she’s happier that way), but the truth is he’s been entertaining audiences for decades.
Matt first got into radio around 20 years ago, after successfully bidding at a charity auction to host a local show. He hasn’t looked back since, and today he brings that same mix of music, humour, and honesty to the airwaves.
Away from the studio, Matt runs his own recording studio, Hangover Hill, in Wimborne. He lives with his wife Mel and their two border collies, Tufty and Kira, aboard a narrowboat on the Kennet & Avon canal — proof that life for Matt is never boring.
One thing’s for sure: with Matt, if you’re a good person, you’ll get treated well. If you’re a git… well, you’ll get treated like one.
