BCP LIFE gets off to a strong start with more than 2,000 residents signing up

BCP Council's new resident discount card, BCP LIFE, has made a strong start, with more than 2,000 people signing up in its first week and over 30 local businesses already offering exclusive discounts.

The scheme launched on Monday 27 July and is available to people living in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole. It gives residents access to savings on a range of Council services, alongside discounts from participating local businesses.

What BCP LIFE offers

The card includes a variety of everyday benefits, including:

  • Cheaper parking
  • Free swimming
  • Discounts at local shops and businesses
  • Savings on family activities, food and drink, watersports and more

According to the Council, residents who use eligible parking and go swimming just once a month could save more than £80 a year.

Local businesses joining the scheme

More than 30 businesses have already signed up, with offers ranging from Thai restaurants and florists to boat hire and watersports providers.

Businesses can choose the discount they would like to offer, and BCP Council says more are expected to join the scheme over the coming weeks.

Backing residents and local businesses

BCP Council Leader Cllr Millie Earl said she was delighted with the response to the launch, describing it as a positive way to support the communities that make Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole such a special place to live.

She also praised the work that had gone into launching the scheme and welcomed the growing number of businesses getting involved.

Funded through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund

BCP LIFE has been funded through the Government's UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), alongside matched funding from BCP Council.

The funding is designed to support projects that encourage economic growth, with BCP LIFE forming part of a wider programme of initiatives across the area.
