HOT RADIO – GENERAL PROMOTION TERMS & CONDITIONS
Applies to competitions, prize draws, giveaways, votes and other promotions run by Hot Radio

1. Who we are
These General Terms & Conditions (“General Terms”) apply to any competition, prize draw, giveaway, vote or promotion (each a “Promotion”) run by Hot Radio, whether on-air, online, via social media, in person, or otherwise.
In these Terms, “Hot Radio”, “we”, “us” and “our” means:

2. Specific Rules (important)
Each Promotion will also have its own Specific Rules, which will be made available wherever the Promotion is advertised (for example, on a webpage, social post, or read out on-air).
The Specific Rules will include the key details needed to decide whether to enter, such as how to enter, eligibility, closing dates, prizes, and how winners are selected.
By entering a Promotion, you agree to be bound by:

these General Terms, and

the Specific Rules for that Promotion
If there is any conflict, the Specific Rules will take priority.
3. Promotion period
Unless stated otherwise in the Specific Rules:

Promotions begin when they are first advertised.

Closing dates and times will be clearly stated.

All times are UK time.
4. Eligibility
Unless the Specific Rules state otherwise:

Entrants must be 18 years or older at the time of entry.

Entrants must be UK residents and located in the UK when entering.

The Channel Islands and Isle of Man are not considered part of the UK for Promotions.
If a Promotion is open to under-18s, this will be clearly stated and parental or guardian consent may be required.
Excluded persons
The following may not enter:

Employees, volunteers, contractors, freelancers or agents of Hot Radio

Anyone professionally involved in the Promotion (including Promotion partners or prize providers)

Immediate family members or members of the same household of the above
5. How to enter
Entry instructions will be provided in the Specific Rules.
Unless stated otherwise:

One entry per person (and/or per phone number, email address, or account)

Automated, bulk, bot, syndicated, or third-party entries are not permitted
-
We reserve the right to disqualify entries we reasonably believe are fraudulent, abusive, misleading, or attempt to manipulate the Promotion
We are not responsible for entries that are lost, delayed, incomplete, corrupted, misdirected, or not received due to technical issues, platform failures, network problems, or human error.
6. On-air and telephone entries (where applicable)
If a Promotion involves a live phone call or being put on air:

The entrant must answer personally

Calls that go unanswered, to voicemail, disconnect, or are answered by someone else may result in disqualification

Entrants must be able to take the call safely and lawfully (e.g. not while driving)
We will normally only call back the number used to enter.
Broadcast timing
Online streams may be delayed compared to broadcast. Any entry deadline tied to on-air content is based on broadcast timing, not stream delay.
7. Entry costs
Unless stated otherwise:

Promotions are free to enter

Standard network charges (calls, texts, data) may apply
Where a Promotion involves premium rate entry or shortcodes, pricing and key information will be clearly stated in the Specific Rules and at the point of invitation to enter.
If you are not the bill payer, you must have permission before entering.
8. Winner selection & fairness
We run Promotions fairly and transparently and will not mislead participants.
Unless stated otherwise:

Prize draws: winners are selected at random from valid entries

Competitions: winners are selected using the criteria stated in the Specific Rules (which may involve independent judging)
We may carry out reasonable checks before confirming a winner.
9. Winner notification & claiming prizes
Winners will be contacted using the method stated in the Specific Rules.
Unless stated otherwise:

Winners must respond within 28 days

Winners may be required to provide proof of identity, age, and eligibility
If a winner does not respond, cannot be verified, or fails to meet requirements, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize and select an alternative winner.

Prizes are as described in the Specific Rules

Prizes are non-transferable and non-refundable

No cash alternative unless expressly stated
Anything not explicitly included (e.g. travel, accommodation, meals, insurance, spending money) is not included.
If a prize becomes unavailable due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, we may substitute it with a prize of equal or greater value.
11. Cash, travel, holiday & event prizes (where applicable)
Additional conditions may apply, including:

UK bank account required for cash prizes

Date restrictions for travel, holidays or events

Responsibility for passports, visas, insurance and additional costs unless stated otherwise
Failure to take or claim a prize within the stated timeframe may result in forfeiture.
12. Publicity
Winners may be asked to take part in reasonable publicity related to the Promotion, including on-air mentions, photos, video or social media content.
If you have concerns about how your name or location is used, please raise this when contacted.
13. User-generated content
If you submit photos, videos, audio or written content:

You confirm you own the content or have permission to submit it

You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use it for administering and promoting the Promotion

We will not sell your content without your permission
Content must not be unlawful, offensive, defamatory, misleading or harmful.
14. Data protection
We process personal data to administer Promotions, contact entrants and winners, and fulfil prizes.

15. Disqualification & misconduct
We reserve the right to disqualify any entrant or winner who:

breaches these Terms or the Specific Rules

acts fraudulently or unfairly
-
behaves abusively or dangerously
-
brings Hot Radio or a Promotion into disrepute
16. Platform disclaimer
Unless stated otherwise, Promotions are not sponsored, endorsed or administered by any third-party platform (including social media platforms). Any information you provide is provided to us, not the platform.
17. Changes, suspension or cancellation
We may amend, suspend or cancel a Promotion if necessary due to circumstances beyond reasonable control, technical issues, errors, or to ensure fairness and compliance.
Where practical, material changes will be communicated via the Promotion channel.
18. Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or fraud.
Subject to this, we are not liable for:

acts or omissions of third parties

technical failures beyond our reasonable control

indirect or consequential losses

20. Governing law
These Terms are governed by English law and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
