Presenter Lowdown - Clark

Born and raised in Poole, Clark’s passion for radio started early — really early. Back in 2014, at just 10 years old, he got his first taste of the airwaves on The Sunday Supplement with Chris Ross. Nervous but buzzing with excitement, he grabbed the mic — and once those first few words came out, he knew he’d found his calling.

From that moment, radio had a permanent place in his heart. Clark began volunteering for online stations around the world, building experience, learning the ropes, and developing his signature sound long before most had even started thinking about their careers.

His connection to Hot Radio began in secondary school when he was invited by Jan Hunt, a former Hot Country Show presenter, to appear as a guest. The experience sparked something that never left. Between 2017 and 2021, Clark poured his energy into perfecting his craft, moving from online radio to his first FM gig at a station in Farnborough — presented remotely from his bedroom studio in Canford Heath.

In 2022, he returned to Hot Radio — this time stepping up to the mic for real. After submitting a demo, he joined the team on The Hot Lunchbox, taking over from Martyn “The Hat” and Kev Scott. From that very first show, he knew he was home.

He soon moved on to Hot Drive, one of Hot’s flagship shows, where he learned the fast-paced rhythm of live broadcasting — juggling travel updates, listener interactions, and on-the-fly content with precision and passion.

In 2023, Clark was offered the Hot Radio Breakfast Show by Alan Smith and Kevin Scott — a major milestone in his journey. From unforgettable guests to chaotic Friday Frolics (yes, including a goat mid-link 🐐), he embraced every moment. It was the perfect stage to let his personality shine — even when dealing with the occasional Boss’s Choice track. 😬

Today, Clark is not just a presenter, but also Programme Controller for Hot Radio and Hot Gold, working behind the scenes to make sure listeners across the South Coast get the best possible experience on air.

From bedroom broadcaster to breakfast show host — Clark’s journey is proof that when passion meets persistence, great things happen.

From childhood radio dreams to Hot Radio Breakfast — here are Clark’s quickfire picks:

First album you bought?

👉 Now That’s What I Call Music! 71 — a proper throwback and the ultimate start to a lifelong obsession with music.

Best gig you’ve ever been to?

👉 Tough one! It’s a tie between James Hype and David Guetta — both absolute masters behind the decks and guaranteed to make any crowd go wild.

Favourite artist of all time?

👉 David Guetta. The undisputed god of dance music who never disappoints. He headlined one of my first gigs, ending the night with Without You and an emotional fireworks display — a moment I still think about to this day.

Song you can’t resist singing along to?

👉 Livin’ Joy – Dreamer. It never fails to get me singing — especially in the car, probably a bit too loudly!

Favourite place in BCP?

👉 Tower Park holds so many childhood memories — from cycling to the cinema on Sunday mornings to blowing my pocket money on the 2p machines that definitely looked like they were going to topple over!

I also love driving to Swanage, whether it’s hopping on the chain ferry or cruising through Wareham and Corfe Castle — nothing beats that view.

A photo that sums up where it all began — growing up in Poole and chasing those radio dreams, one show at a time.
